Haiku

Gay Sun Devils swirl,
Sand chokes us and blurs our view.
Roll on tumbleweed!

Wee white Violet
Hiding in the thick green lawn
You lift my spirit!

Tan, brown, cream, black, white
Cattle on a green, green hill
In Oklahoma

Golden brown hay bales
Lined on a bright green meadow
An Illinois farm.

Yellow, red and orange
Dittoed along the shoreline
Of Michigan's lakes

Early morning sun
Severed by the Church steeple
A picturesque scene!

Hail white trillium!
After Winter's chill and snow -
Spring in Michigan

Little gray squirrel
Playing peek-a-boo with me
'Round a big Maple.

A whiff of freshness -
Bits of green litter the walk
A lawn mower clicks

But for lapping waves,
All still - woodpecker's loud drum -
The plop of a fish
