Haiku

Tree buds near leafing
Bush with snow pussy willows
It's April Fool's Day!

Yard a verdant hue!
A miracle overnight
Wrought by silent rain.

Kicking warm road dust
Swinging book sack lazily
A salamander!

Bare branches bedecked
With sparkling sequin jewels
This bright zero morn.

Smooth divinity
Candy sprinkled with sugar,
My lawn this March Day.

Two killdeer stilting
Exuberantly over
Rain on vacant slab

With slow slush of waves
Dull rocks transform to bright hues
And fancy designs.

Water gushes down
Joins, overflows dry beds, forming
Treacherous Gila

Deep snow, rain, then freeze
Has wrought a fairyland bright
With sparkling jewels

No sky, earth, or trees
Only snowflakes frolic near
The rasping wiper
