(Chuck's mother, Dorothy) was a retired school teacher who really should have been an actress. She was a natural, and, at age 97, had no difficulty memorizing lines... not just hers, but others' as well. She had done some painting and was quite a good poet... see the samples. All of her writing came directly out of actual life experiences. Nearly all of her writing was done during the last 30 years of her life.
